You can achieve anything if you put your mind to it – which is what Jas did, after achieving her goal of buying her own property at the age of 30.
“It had always been a big goal of mine to buy my own property before I turned 30. I had always valued longer term purchases like a house and car. So I saved really hard, and now I’m a proud owner of a terrace at Lightsview!”“As soon as I saw it, I had a feeling that this was the one.”
Born in England, and of Indian descent, Jas and her family moved to Australia when she was two years old. Having lived in Adelaide since then, and growing up in Modbury Heights, Jas had been familiar with the new residential developments at Lightsview.
“I would see the development going on at Lightsview just by driving through it and sometimes seeing some ads on TV. I was definitely looking around but my heart was really set on a community-driven suburb.”
“I decided on Lightsview because it’s new and modern, and it just felt like ‘me’. It’s also somewhere you actually want to spend your weekend – just relaxing at home or
walking around at the parks and in the suburb. It’s also the kind of community where it feels like everyone just knows each other. It’s really easy to navigate around Lightsview and there are plenty of beautiful surroundings. Often I would drive right through the estate instead of around it, just to enjoy how gorgeous it is.”
Jas moved into her brand new two-bedroom, two-bathroom terrace in August and is loving her new lifestyle. “The terrace is perfect for me – it’s compact enough for singles or couples but it would also fit a family too so I think it’s a really good investment.”
“I’d also love to have a dog, but that might have to wait until a bit later when I have more time to spend with it. Terraces are known for not having a lot of backyard room for pets, but Lightsview has plenty of parks and walkways which are perfect for pets!”
“I’m definitely more into looking at the bigger picture and investing in experiences and a lifestyle over material things… which is definitely what helped me reach my goal of buying my own home!”
