Bluestone Mt Barker Update parkrun 2nd Birthday

Celebrating Bluestone's Parkindula parkrun 2nd Birthday

Saturday marked a very special milestone for the Parkindula parkrun community, with 139 participants celebrating their 2nd birthday! Parkindula reserve came alive with a sea of red balloons and outfits, bringing much colour and warmth to a chilly Hills morning. The chill was also kept at bay with free hot drinks from the coffee van, a birthday present from Bluestone, Mt Barker to the running group.

Event #106 welcomed 139 participants, including 18 first-timers, 20 personal bests, as well as runners from12 different clubs who joined in the celebrations. The atmosphere was nothing short of electric. It was heart-warming to see so many people linger on the grassed area after the event, chatting and connecting. It's clear that this group is building a vibrant, welcoming community event that goes beyond the run.

Since their very first event on 6 May 2023, Parkindula parkrun has seen:

1,849 participants
6,190 parkruns completed
Nearly 31,000 kilometres covered
Over 1,000 personal bests achieved
210 volunteers contributing on 1,240+ occasions

Bluestone, Mt Barker is incredibly proud of the community that has grown each Saturday morning, and the energy and enthusiasm the runners and volunteers bring to our community. Here's to many more milestones, memories, and Saturday mornings together!
