Thousands Turn Up for Supercharged Day of Family Fun at Flagstone's SuperCARnival!

Families and residents from across south-east Queensland joined Supercar Championship drivers, Todd Hazelwood, Aaron Seton, and Andre Heimgartner, at Flagstone on Saturday 22 October for an action-packed SuperCARnival ahead of next weekend’s Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500.

The free event hosted by Peet, in partnership with the Supercars Championship, offered a carnival atmosphere including a host of thrilling rides, a custom car show, live music and DJs, a kids’ play zone, food trucks, and all-day entertainment. The event marked the fifth birthday of Flagstone, one of South-East Queensland’s fastest-growing communities.

Karen Stanton, a resident of Flagstone, said the SuperCARnival was a great reflection of the strong and vibrant community that sets Flagstone apart for all that live there. “Community connection and events like the SuperCARnival sit at the heart of what makes Flagstone a special place for all of us to live. These events not only bring Flagstonians together but draw in neighbours from across surrounding areas and make them feel welcome as part of our community family,” Stanton said.

Supercar Championship drivers, Todd Hazelwood, Aaron Seton, and Andre Heimgartner, all attended the day, meeting fans and signing autographs throughout the event, while other residents enjoyed Flagstone “Super Lap” experiences in the Ford Mustang Supercars Safety Car. Hazelwood, who drives for Matt Stone Racing, said that the SuperCARnival was a great way to build anticipation ahead of the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500.

“It is rare to show up to a community and get the kind of welcome that we have received here at Flagstone today. The enthusiasm that the Flagstonians have shown for all things Supercars has blown us away. It’s such a privilege to be part of the community’s fifth birthday and join in the celebrations,” he said.

During the afternoon, Flagstone Project Director, Troy Thompson, joined Hi-5 star and Supercars’ presenter Charli Robinson alongside Triple M’s Ben ‘Dobbo’ Dobbin, who were MCs of the afternoon’s festivities.

Thompson said that he was proud of the close-knit community that had grown within Flagstone over the last five years since Peet’s development began.

“Today, we not only celebrate our partnership with the Supercars Championship, but we also celebrate Flagstone’s fifth birthday. The SuperCARnival is just one example of Peet’s commitment to partnering with local events to bring Flagstone to life as we look toward the next five years.”

Thompson believes that Peet’s long-term vision for Flagstone is becoming clearer everyday thanks to partnerships that encourage local residents and the wider community to get involved in major community events.

“Events like SuperCARnival expand on our promise to foster a strong community spirit by bringing residents and the wider community together. They’re a critical part of the success of the community and at five years young, this is only the beginning for Flagstone,” said Thompson.
