As part of National Families Week, Peet is proud to share a progress update on our Family Friendly Workplace certification – marking the midpoint of our two‑year action plan to embed and expand inclusive, family‑friendly practices across the business.
We recognise that many employees balance work with a wide range of caring and life responsibilities. Whether you’re starting a family, caring for elderly parents, managing your health, or navigating another life stage, we understand that everyone’s circumstances are unique.
Our Family Friendly Workplace accreditation reflects Peet’s commitment to supporting employees through every phase of life. Importantly, this certification is not just for parents or carers – flexible, inclusive and supportive workplace practices benefit everyone.
Since achieving certification, Peet has continued to make meaningful progress as part of our action plan. Key milestones include:
- Enhancements to our parental leave policy, including paid leave for early pregnancy loss (for both parents) and paid kinship and foster carer’s leave
- The introduction of a Family and Domestic Violence policy, supporting safe, compassionate and consistent responses to a serious issue
- The development of manager resources to support employees returning from parental leave and to embed flexible work practices fairly across the business
While there is still more work ahead, this midpoint check‑in reflects our ongoing commitment to building a workplace that supports life beyond work, because when our people are supported personally, they are better able to thrive professionally.
“Being a Family Friendly Workplace is about creating a place where our people truly feel supported and able to belong, whatever stage of life they’re in,” said Liezl Ulrich, Head of People & Culture.
“As we reach the midpoint of our action plan, we’re proud of the progress we’ve made and are just as focused on what comes next – continuing to embed inclusive, flexible practices that support life beyond work and help our people thrive, personally and professionally.”
