This year, Peet once again recognised National Tree Planting Day through a series of school partnerships across the country, building on our long-standing commitment to driving sustainable outcomes in our communities.
Last month, four of our communities partnered with local schools to engage students, educate them on environmental sustainability, and provide opportunities to connect with their local environments through tree planting activities.

Brabham, WA
The tree planting event with Maarakool Primary School brought together over 30 students for a hands-on day of environmental learning.
Delivered in partnership with Tranen, Creating Communities Australia and Brabham Estate, the initiative gave students the opportunity to learn about local native species, safe planting techniques and the important role revegetation plays in creating healthier natural environments. Now in its third year, the annual tree planting event continues to inspire young people to connect with nature and take pride in their local community.
Working in pairs, students planted seedlings and installed plant guards, helping to enhance Brabham’s growing green spaces while building new friendships along the way.
The event also provided an opportunity for students from different school groups to connect with one another, strengthening community ties through a shared experience.
Shorehaven, WA
At Shorehaven, 20 Year 6 student leaders from Shorehaven Primary School came together at Giger Park to participate in Tree Planting Day.
The event was delivered in partnership with Tranen, Creating Communities Australia and Shorehaven Estate, providing students with the opportunity to learn about the importance of native species and the principle of safe and effective planting techniques.
Students actively participated in planting native vegetation, contributing to the enhancement of the local green space while gaining valuable hands-on environmental education.
Newhaven, VIC
To celebrate National Schools Tree Day, eight student leaders from Wimba Primary School, including Sports Captains and School Councillors, joined the Newhaven team at Newhaven Dog Park to take part in a meaningful tree planting initiative.
The event marked the third consecutive year of tree planting events that Newhaven, Wimba Primary School and landscaping partner LD Total have joined forces to support National Schools Tree Day, building on the success of previous planting events and reflecting a shared commitment to environmental sustainability and community connection.
By contributing to the enhancement of local green spaces, students gained a hands-on opportunity to connect with nature while developing a deeper understanding of the important role trees play in creating healthy, vibrant communities. The initiative encouraged students to take an active role in caring for their local environment, helping to preserve and protect it for future generations.
Flagstone, QLD
In partnership with Interface Landscapes, students from across the Peet Flagstone community came together to celebrate National Tree Day by helping revegetate a local heritage site, demonstrating a shared commitment to caring for the environment and creating a greener future.
A total of 55 students participated in the planting initiative, including horticulture students from Flagstone State Community College, students from Flagstone State School, and students from St Bonaventure’s College. Working together, they planted a variety of native species to help restore and enhance the important heritage site within the Flagstone community.
The event formed part of Peet’s ongoing commitment to fostering sustainable communities and inspiring young people to become environmental stewards. Through hands on activities such as revegetation and habitat restoration, students gained valuable knowledge about the role native vegetation plays in supporting local biodiversity and maintaining healthy ecosystems.
