On Friday, 31 July 2026, twenty Year 6 student leaders from Shorehaven Primary School rolled up their sleeves and headed to Giger Park for a hands-on Tree Planting Day.
Delivered in partnership with Tranen, Creating Communities Australia and Shorehaven Estate, the event provided students with the opportunity to learn about the importance of native species and the principle of safe and effective planting techniques.
Students actively planted native vegetation throughout the park, contributing to the enhancement of the local green space while gaining valuable, hands-on environmental knowledge. Their efforts will help create a greener, healthier environment for the community to enjoy for years to come.
Following the planting activities, students enjoyed a well-deserved afternoon tea and time to play at the park, celebrating their efforts and contribution to the local environment.
