The City of Logan has kicked off summer by announcing two new water park play areas will be built by late next year.
Modern, engaging water play areas will be constructed in Logan Central and Flagstone.
Both will be ‘zero-depth’ watercourses with waterfalls, climbing structures, water jets and bubblers with accompanying shade structures and amenities.
The water can be turned off to allow the play areas to be used in colder months.
In Logan Central, Logan Gardens was identified as a preferred location for the water play area after an extensive city-wide site analysis and an assessment by independent consulting engineers.
The location was preferred because of existing amenities, shelters, tables, barbecue facilities, parking and proximity to public transport.

POSTED ON 7 Jan 2019
CHRISTMAS next year will be a much cooler affair for Logan residents with two new water parks planned for the city.
Logan City Council and developer Peet will stump up a joint $5 million to build the two water play areas — one at Logan Central and the other at Flagstone. The Flagstone site will be at the new Flagstone Regional Park, in Flagstonian Dve, next to a skate plaza, dog park and one of the biggest community playgrounds in southeast Queensland, which opens this weekend.
ONE of the biggest new playgrounds in southeast Queensland opens at Flagstone on Saturday, December 15, ready for the first day of the school holidays.
The community will get its first look — and first chance to try — the $4 million adventure playground as the state’s 800,000 school students head into the long summer break.
The construction fence will come down and the fireworks will go up for a free community Christmas party overflowing with music, food and fun, from 4pm to 8pm. The celebration will end with a bang as the playground lights up with fireworks and a laser light show.
There will be plenty of free entertainment for the family including markets, card making, Santa’s photobooth, children’s parade, facepainting, rides and candy.

A PRIVATE NSW investor has snapped up the sales and information centre for Peet Flagstone City south west of Brisbane. The investor paid $1.605 million for the 277sq m twostorey building on a 1923sq m block at 238 Homestead Drive in a deal struck by Ray White Commercial’s Michael Feltoe and Ray White Special Project’s Andrew Burke and Matthew Fritzsche. The masterplanned city’s developer Peet Flagstone City will occupy the sales office while the community is developed, on a 10-year leaseback with two five-year options. Mr Feltoe said campaign garnered 83 inquiries and 14 formal offers from local and interstate private investors and small syndicates. “The asset was hotly contested due to its low site coverage and strong underlying growth fundamentals including more than 50,000 homes that are forecast to be delivered within the next 30 years, as well as a local employment increase of more than 10,000 people in the Greater Flagstone area,” he said. The deal realised a 6.9 per cent yield. The property is next door to a future Coles supermarket and a proposed tavern that was recently placed under contract.

Vodafone has signed a lease with developers Peet Limited to construct a 35 metre tower in Gates Road, between the new Coles supermarket site and the railway line. It is expected to be operational by year’s end.

Peet Flagstone in collaboration with Logan Together and Logan City Council is seeking initial Registrations of Interest (ROI) from community groups, services and organisations, and individuals who would like to deliver services or activities, individually or in collaboration with other groups, from a community hub planned for Flagstone.
In order to deliver a bespoke and responsive community space, these ROIs will be used by the project team as a basis for further discussions with interested parties. Interest in future involvement within the Hub will be sought, and in doing so, potentially inform design and operational planning.
We encourage as many people as possible to register interest in the project to ensure the best possible outcome for Flagstone.
