On Saturday 10 May 2025, we proudly held our first Gen Connect event at the Y-Hub in Yanchep alongside the Shorehaven Yarners. This new initiative is designed to build skills and foster meaningful connections by bringing different generations together. We had 12 participants attend, with made for the perfect blend of Yanchep Golf Estate residents and Yarners. Each resident was paired with a Yarner, who guided them through the art of crochet. Many residents shared that they had previously tried learning crochet and struggled but having a knowledgeable mentor sitting beside them, offering real-time guidance, made all the difference. The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, with people of all ages and abilities learning together. Thank you to all those who attended and to the Shorehaven Yarners for sharing their time, skills and wisdom with the next generation.
