There’s a new way to experience the coastline at Burns Beach!
The new Coastal Boardwalk is now open, enhancing access to our beautiful shoreline and creating even more opportunities for residents and visitors to enjoy the outdoors, connect with the coast and embrace the premium Burns Beach lifestyle.
Thoughtfully designed to complement the surrounding environment, the boardwalk follows the natural topography of the Burns Beach dunes, enhancing beach access while ensuring minimal disturbance to the surrounding land. The boardwalk runs from the shower facilities at the top of the coastal path off Beachside Drive, along approximately 150 metres of vegetated coastland, before connecting to the beachfront at Burns Beach.
To ensure equal access for the community and visitors of Burns Beach, the boardwalk has two entry points – an accessible path and stairs access.
- Accessible boardwalk – designed to fully accommodate people with disabilities in wheelchairs and families with pushchairs, which leads to a lookout point over Burns Beach.
- Stair access – designed to take visitors directly down to the beach via an 86-step staircase.
Whether you’re taking a morning stroll, heading down for a swim, or simply stopping to admire the ocean views, the new boardwalk provides yet another way to connect with the relaxed coastal lifestyle that makes Burns Beach such a special place to live and visit.
