On Friday 24 July 2026, Brabham and Maarakool Primary Schools celebrated National Schools Tree Planting Day at Brabham Estate. The event brought together over 30 students for a hands-on day of environmental learning at the revegetation area on the corner of Murray Rd and Woollcott Ave. Delivered in partnership with Tranen, Creating Communities Australia and Brabham Estate, the event saw students take part in two planting sessions where they learnt about local native species, safe planting techniques and the important role revegetation plays in creating a healthier natural environment. This is the third tree planting day initiative held within Brabham Estate and the event continues to inspire young people to connect with and care for their local community.
Working in pairs, students planted seedlings and installed plant guards while building new friendships and developing a sense of pride in Brabham’s growing green spaces. The crossover between the two school groups provided an opportunity for students to connect with peers from across the community, while overwhelmingly positive feedback highlighted how much they enjoyed the practical experience of planting, learning about local plants and wildlife, and contributing to the environment. The event reinforced Brabham Estate’s commitment to creating sustainable communities and fostering meaningful partnerships with local schools through engaging, hands-on initiatives.
