On Friday 19 September 2025, Brabham and Maarakool Primary Schools in partnership with Brabham Estate celebrated National Schools Tree Planting Day. An initiative aimed at educating students about the importance of caring for our local environment. This year marked the third annual event in Brabham, and it was our biggest yet with over 500 seedlings planted throughout the day!
Cory from Tranen kicked off the sessions by introducing the native species selected for planting and explaining why each was chosen specifically for the site. The students also learnt about the nearby water catchment area and how it acts as a natural filtration system, removing harmful nutrients from runoff before they reach the Swan River. Together, the students worked side by side to plant the seedlings and install protective tree guards, giving these young plants the best chance to thrive.
A huge thank you to the team at Tranen for sharing their expertise and inspiring the next generation to care for our environment. We’re already looking forward to next year’s tree planting day!🌿
