This October, the Flagstone community is coming together to put One Foot Forward for mental health and help create a future where no one has to face mental illness alone.
One Foot Forward is Black Dog Institute’s annual walking and fundraising challenge, encouraging Australians to get moving throughout October while raising vital funds for mental health research, education and support.
For 2026, we’re inviting residents, families, local businesses, sporting clubs and community groups to join the Flagstone Community team and take part together.
Whether you walk around the block, explore Flagstone’s parks and pathways, get some kilometres in with friends or simply make your everyday steps count, every kilometre contributes to our collective goal.
It’s not about being the fastest or walking the furthest. It’s about showing up, starting conversations and reminding people in our community that mental health matters.
By joining the Flagstone Community team, you’ll be part of a local movement supporting the important work of Black Dog Institute while also encouraging connection, physical activity and conversations around mental health right here in our community.

You can take part individually, with your family, alongside friends or encourage your workplace, sporting club or community group to get involved.
Every step counts. Every conversation matters. And together, thousands of small steps can make a big difference.
This October, let’s show what Flagstone can do when our community moves forward together.
