Residents invited to share meaningful family recipes celebrating culture, connection and community
Flagstone is celebrating the rich cultural diversity of our growing community with the launch of a special digital publication: A Taste of Harmony – Flagstone e‑Cookbook. This project invites residents to submit a recipe that holds personal meaning – a dish linked to family traditions, cultural heritage, or a childhood memory that continues to bring comfort and connection.
Throughout February, Flagstone residents can contribute their recipes and stories, each becoming a unique ingredient in a community cookbook that reflects the flavours, backgrounds, and experiences that shape our city.
Food has always been more than nourishment. It is a storyteller – passing down traditions, preserving identity, and creating moments of shared belonging across generations. The e‑Cookbook brings these stories to life, offering a window into the diverse cultures that make Flagstone a vibrant and welcoming place to live.
The final publication will be launched online during Harmony Week 2026, a national celebration that highlights inclusiveness, respect, and a sense of belonging for everyone. Harmony Week is a reminder of the strength found in diversity, and the e‑Cookbook provides a meaningful, creative way for residents to participate in this message.
All community members are encouraged to take part. Whether your recipe is simple or elaborate, handed down through generations or discovered through travel or tradition, your contribution adds to Flagstone’s shared story.
