Transport and Connections
Newhaven is located just 28 kilometres from Melbourne’s CBD, with easy access to the city by road and rail.
Tarneit Train Station is just 1.8 kilometres away, just a short drive along Leakes Road, and the train service will get to you to Southern Cross Station in just 35 minutes. Plus, a shared walking and bike path is planned to provide a direct connection from Newhaven to the station.
Train travel made easy
A convenient commute can be yours at Newhaven. Tarneit Train Station is close by, so you can drive to the station in just a few minutes and leave your car at the Park and Ride car park while you head into the city. Future walking and bike paths from Newhaven will make it even easier, meaning you’ll get home sooner to enjoy family time in the evening.
A growing community
Land right next door to Newhaven has been earmarked for the proposed Tarneit West Train Station as part of the Tarneit North Precinct Structure Plan*. A future town centre has also been proposed.
By bus and by car
Take the local 167 bus route to Werribee and Hoppers Crossing. If travelling by car, jump on the West Gate Freeway via Leakes Road to get to the city. Or for a weekend adventure, drive to Geelong in just 45 minutes, or the Surf Coast in an hour, via the Princes Freeway.
Your new local area
A proposed future public primary school is zoned within the Newhaven community, and in the meantime there are plenty of quality schools and daycare centres nearby to choose from.
