Estate a Hit With Families

THREE generations of the Saurine-Draper family now call Peet Limited’s Riverbank community home as the 1200-homesite development grows. Jacee and Corey Draper and their two children moved into the Caboolture South community in June, with Jacee’s parents Peter and Leslie Saurine moving into a house two doors down in October.

Ms Saurine, who now commutes to the Sunshine Coast for work, said they initially had no intention of moving into Riverbank when they first looked at the estate with their daughter – but they fell in love with the area. “A week later my husband and I decided to sell up on the Sunshine Coast and follow them,” she said, adding they loved spending time with their grandchildren. "My only regret now is that we didn’t buy the block right next door.”

Ms Draper said living so close to her parents would be a “big help” particularly next year when her husband is working away from home. "Having the train nearby will also be fantastic because it means my great-grandparents can come and visit from Hervey Bay,” she said. “At 89, my great-grandfather is starting to find the drive a bit tiring. “I didn’t spend a lot of time with my own grandparents when I was young and I really want that for my children.”

Ms Draper said that as a single-income family, the affordability of Riverbank was a major attraction, as well as the amenity. “Here I can literally walk to the shopping centre if I wanted to. If you didn’t have transport it’s amazing how central it is,” she said.

The 150ha development on the banks of the Caboolture River will have a new family park and playground in the next phase of development. Construction is due to begin early in the new year, coinciding with the release of lots in the northern sector of the estate, along the river. Ms Draper said they bought thier lot oppostie an existing park with their children in mind. “So having another park within walking distance will be fantastic,” she said. “I have to take my two-year-old every day or else I hear about it,” she laughed.

Land releases in the Bay Tree precinct range from 320sq m to 785sq m and start from $159,500. House and land packages start from $310,193.
