A new chapter in Homeownership is coming – From 1 October 2025, the Australian Government has expanded the First Home Guarantee Scheme – a powerful tool to help homebuyers enter the property market faster.
🚨 What’s New – Effective 1 October 2025
Housing Australia has confirmed these enhancements to the First Home Guarantee Scheme, starting from 1 October 2025:
- No more limits: There are now unlimited places for eligible buyers.
- Eliminated income caps – making the scheme inclusive for broader income groups
- Higher property price caps: Reflecting market realities, caps have increased to match higher median prices in many regions.
- Low deposit: minimum 5% (First Home Guarantee or Regional First Home Buyer Guarantee) or 2% (Family Home Guarantee)
