Construction has begun on a brand new Peet community in Yanchep that will deliver approximately 700 homes, inclusive of 100 social housing dwellings, and a new primary school in Perth’s growing northern suburbs.

Earthworks have officially commenced on the 58-hectare site, with Premier Hon Roger Cook MLA, Deputy Premier Hon Rita Saffioti MLA and Minister for Planning and Lands Hon John Carey MLA joining representatives from Peet and DevelopmentWA for a ceremony to break ground.

Delivered by Peet in partnership DevelopmentWA, the new estate is located minutes from the Yanchep Train Station and the future Yanchep City Centre. The community will see the first lots go on sale in late 2026, with residents expected to begin moving in from 2028.

Responding directly to the increasing demand for well-located housing in Perth’s north, DevelopmentWA, in partnership with Peet, is committed to accelerating housing supply within the evolving Yanchep area, one of the metropolitan area’s fastest‑growing regions.

Paul Morgan, State Manager WA at Peet, said the project will play an important role in meeting housing demand while building a community that families can grow with, all while respecting its natural surroundings.

“With 700 homes, dedicated social housing and a new primary school, this new community will be a neighbourhood where families can put down roots and access the services they need from the outset,” said Mr Morgan. “We’re also committed to integrating sustainability into the estate, prioritising the retention of the natural typography and significant trees throughout the community, including the preservation of the local honey-myrtle”.

“Yanchep is attracting enormous interest from homebuyers, supported by significant ongoing investment into local infrastructure. The new Yanchep Train Station, Mitchell Freeway extension to Romeo Road in Alkimos, and future City Centre are transforming Yanchep into a highly-connected community. Peet is proud to be working alongside DevelopmentWA to deliver the housing and community infrastructure this vibrant region needs.”

The community is well positioned within reach of established retail, education and lifestyle offerings in a burgeoning and popular Perth neighbourhood. The recently completed Yanchep Train Station provides direct rail connections to the Perth CBD in approximately 49 minutes, while Yanchep National Park, Yanchep Lagoon and the Sun City Country Club and Golf Course offer a coastal and active outdoor lifestyle.

The milestone adds to the positive momentum in the area and reinforces Peet’s track record of delivering connected communities where residents feel a genuine sense of belonging.
