Over the past 12 months, the WA Cricket Foundation has made a meaningful impact by supporting over 3,000 participants across a diverse range of programs, with cricket being used as a platform to foster positive connections and empowerment. Peet is proud to partner with the WA Cricket Foundation and its initiatives across the past three years, including the Social Leaders and the Aboriginal Leadership programs – helping shape a new generation of cricketers by building resilience, goal setting and leadership skills in a safe, supportive environment. The Social Leaders program continues to help shape a new generation of female cricketers, providing young women with a safe, supportive space to develop key life skills and realise that leadership isn’t about where you come from, but where you’re going.

Krisha Shah, a talented young cricketer who plays for Knights Baldivis Cricket Club and participates in the Social Leaders and WA Cricket coaching programs, was selected to represent Peet at the bat-flip for the Perth Scorchers WBBL match against the Melbourne Renegades on 2 December at the WACA Ground and meet Team Captains Sophie Devine and Sophie Molineux.

The Aboriginal Leadership program aims to empower future leaders by engaging with metropolitan and regional high schools to support participants’ personal development through education in resilience, goal setting, public speaking and leadership, highlighting opportunities available to Aboriginal youth through cricket. The program engaged 375 participants over the year, including Emma-Lee Hammond who was awarded the Haywood Scholarship in recognition of her dedication and commitment to bettering herself as a player and community leader. In 2025, Emma-Lee was selected into the Aboriginal Talent Academy, a high-performance program offering 14 Aboriginal cricket players access to advanced coaching, mentoring and competition.

Through the Academy, she has been able to refine her technical skills, embrace leadership opportunities, and actively contribute to creating a supportive environment.
In recognition of her achievements, Emma-Lee was invited onto Optus Stadium to help flip the bat ahead of the Perth Scorchers Aboriginal match against the Adelaide Strikers earlier this year and receive some insights from Captain Ashton Turner.

“Through our partnership with the WA Cricket Foundation, we’re proud to help open doors for young women and Aboriginal youth, giving them the confidence and skills to become tomorrow’s leaders, both on and off the field,” said Peet CEO, Brett Fullarton.

“These programs reflect our commitment to investing in social initiatives that build inclusive, resilient and connected communities where everyone feels supported and empowered to flourish.”
