Watching your children fly from the family nest is exciting and often a little bittersweet. It’s great to have your house back but you can’t help but miss the laughter and energy they bring. It can be comforting if they are close enough to visit and even more comforting when they are moving just around the corner into a beautiful new home of their own.

This is exactly the case for three fond mums from our Flagstone community in Queensland, who all have sons who have recently flown the coop and are settling into homes of their own in Flagstone too!

Meet Lara and her son Timothy

Tim has just unpacked the last cardboard box in his new house. But while the house is new, he knows Flagstone like the back of his hand as he and his family have lived in the area for most of his life. Tim went to school locally and his mother Lara is now Director of Flagstone’s newest childcare centre, Imagine Childcare and Kindergarten.

We have lived in Flagstone for 14 years and have been able to watch it grow.  We have raised our children here. They have gone to school here and grown up here. I can’t wait for the community to build up because it means more jobs for our children, transport and more amenities … all on our doorstep.Lara

Meet Donna-Marie and her son Blair

Blair snapped up one of the first lots in Flagstone City to build his first home and all it took was a gentle nudge from mum Donna-Marie, who is the President of the Flagstone Community Association. In the past four years, four generations of their family have moved to Flagstone from New Zealand, attracted by the chance to start a new life together in an exciting new location brimming with opportunity.

Meet Julie-Anne and her son Hayden

Julie-Anne has waited her whole life for a new home of her own and she and her family have an exciting few months ahead as they move into their brand-new house at Flagstone. To add to the excitement, Julie-Anne’s eldest son Hayden and his fiancé are currently finalising the purchase of their block right next door!

They do say home is where the heart is, and for these three families their heart and their home is at our Flagstone community. If you are looking for a new place to call home (or need to give that gentle nudge to a family member!) check out our thriving communities across the country.
