BUS SERVICE SPREADS FURTHER INTO BURNS BEACH.

Great news for Burns Beach – the No. 471 bus now runs through the suburb NORTH of Burns Beach Road!

Transperth has taken on board requests from local residents and put the 471 on a new route that takes in Grand Ocean Entrance, Whitehaven Avenue, Burns Beach Road and Ocean Parade to the terminus at Burns Beach.

The new service runs between Burns Beach and Joondalup train station, the first bus from the beach on weekdays leaving at 6.06am, the last at 5.04pm.

From Joondalup station, the first bus is at 7.11am and the last at 6.46pm.

Times vary a little on Saturdays and the 471 doesn’t run on Sundays so you should check the Transperth website transperth.wa.gov.au for times that suit your journey.

Transperth spokesman David Hynes says Transperth had always planned to adjust the route of the 471 bus to cater for passengers north of Burns Beach Road “once sufficient development had taken place and the road network was completed”.

“Now that residential density is sufficient, we have moved Route 471 into this area to provide greater levels of access to the broader community,” Mr Hynes said.

“This will put a much greater proportion of the local community within the walkable catchment for public transport,” he said.

Route 470 from Joondalup station to Burns Beach continues to operate.
