Design Guidelines

To establish and maintain the quality of this unique community at Cornerstone, Design Guidelines have been prepared to assist purchasers in designing and building their homes to a high standard, maximising the value of their investment and enhancing the quality of the community as a whole.

Before building, homebuyers are required to submit their house plans to Peet for approval. This can be done at any time after the contract of sale has been signed.

First Home Owners Grant

Choose your new address at Cornerstone Werribee, then enjoy a $10,000 bonus when you build your new home, thanks to the First Home Owner Grant (FHOG). The Victorian Government's FHOG has been set at $10,000 - available on new homes only*.

In addition, eligible first home buyers entering into contracts on or after 1 July 2017, will benefit from paying no stamp duty on properties valued up to $600,000. Properties purchased between $600,001 and $750,000 will receive a tapered discount.

5 Steps to buying land

1. Make an offer

With your home research done and finances sorted you’ll be ready to write up an offer or contract of sale.

2. Pay a deposit

Immediately after the exchange of contract, you will be required to pay a deposit.

3. Exchange the contract

When both you and the seller are happy with conditions and the purchase price, both parties sign the contract of sale.

4. Get sorted in pre-settlement

A settlement agent or solicitor can help with this and handle the paperwork involved in purchasing your new home. They will also work with you and/or your lender or mortgage broker to ensure any loan arrangements are documented.

5. Time to settle

It’s official! Once titles are issued and your contract conditions are met, settlement takes place. At settlement, the balance of the purchase price is handed over to the seller and your representative will ensure documents are registered so the title reflects the change of land ownership.
