Flagstone community hub underway
Plans are underway for Flagstone’s first community hub with developers Peet Limited, Logan City Council and Logan Together joining forces to co-design the new facility.
More than 30 residents and community organisations took part in the first workshop to consider requirements for the hub which is expected to include space for community meetings, clubs, classes and accommodation for community services and visiting health professionals.

The meeting looked at the infrastructure that would be needed, including pop-up and demountable options, services and activities required by the community and organisations interested in getting involved. Further workshops are planned to progress the design and operational model. The hub will be a focal point in Peet’s growing Flagstone City development and is expected to be located on the eastern side of Flagstonian Drive, between Flagstone bridge and the new regional park.
Peet Limited CEO and Managing Director Brendan Gore said the innovative model would help bring new services to Flagstone years ahead of schedule.
“One of the biggest challenges in new developments is being able to provide services early enough to anticipate the needs of the community.
“By collaborating with Council, Logan Together and leading service providers, and using flexible infrastructure, we can be proactive and deliver community services well ahead of demand.”
Logan Division 11 Councillor Trevina Schwarz commended Peet for engaging with the community to design a facility that suited its specific needs.
“There are a lot of community hubs being developed but the Flagstone model is exciting because it’s being designed with community members and service providers input and will be flexible and adaptive. It provides the opportunity to expand as community demand increases, and to develop the best solution before permanent facilities are put into place.”
Director of Logan Together Matthew Cox welcomed the progressive and community focused approach.
“It’s terrific to see the private sector, local government and the residents of the area work collaboratively to achieve a solid solution that will benefit local families,” he said.
