Lightsview is widely celebrated for having set the benchmark for the delivery of master-planned communities in South Australia, and the development of a new feature lake is a testament to that.
The much-anticipated lake and its surrounds is positioned alongside East Parkway, Lightsview’s main thoroughfare. The new lake offers a real sense of arrival for residents and visitors alike. It stands to reason why the lake has been hailed “Lightsview’s new centrepiece”.

The new park network will include seating nooks and places for the adults to seek respite, whilst children of all ages will treasure the water feature and numerous landscaped play spaces. Development Director Alan Miller says the lake and surrounding park network will only further enrich the Lightsview resident experience.

Proposed multi million dollar injection into the Lightsview community
The $15 million sports and recreation centre at Lightsview is a very real certainty with the State Government recently gifting a portion of the former Ross Smith Secondary School site to the Port Adelaide Enfield Council, for the purpose of creating the planned recreation centre.
In a partnership with the State Government, Council will deliver an exciting multi-purpose community facility on the 2ha site, located on the corner of Hampstead Road and East Parkway. The facility will become home to a minimum of four indoor multi-use courts and space for community meetings and activities.
Council is planning to onsite prior to the end of the year and is aiming to complete works by mid-2018.
A Hungry Jack's restaurant is amongst several new businesses to commence on a commercial site fronting Hampstead Road. The approval from the Development Assessment Commission paves the way for this business to be joined by a mix of other potential businesses, with other dining, office and retail options being considered.
Located adjacent to the East Parkway entrance to Lightsview, the commercial site will have to it's north a multi-court basketball facility, proposed by the Port Adelaide Enfield Council. And to the south, it will be framed by the new Stepping Stone Childcare Centre (located in the former David Campbell Performing Arts Centre). In this area there is a master planned reserve and wetlands are also currently under construction. It is expected that developers of these sites will progressively enhance the offerings with new announcements over the coming 12 months.
