Peet’s Play of the Day
As the Perth Scorchers Community Partner, Peet has been busy taking cricket to the community this summer, providing opportunities for everyone to get a taste for the game – from kids picking up a bat for the first time, to experienced cricketers who have been developing their skills for years.
We were excited to select a number of local clubs to participate in Peet’s Play of the Day – setting them the simple challenge of selecting a ‘speccy’ play or an outstanding performance by a player during one of their regular fixtures. The winners each took home four tickets to see the Perth Scorchers in action at home at Optus Stadium!
White Knight hits it out of the park!
The White Knights Baldivis A Grade team took on the Peet Play of the Day challenge on Saturday 12 January when they played Hillman at home in Baldivis.
The White Knights batted first with Wesley Steele putting in a star performance, hitting the ball all over the park to finish with 76 runs and set the team up for victory by 43 runs at the end of the day.
Wesley took home the tickets to see the Scorchers take on the Sydney Thunder at Optus Stadium on 24 January.
Scorching day out for Swan View duo!
The Swan View Cricket Club B Division One Day Grade team took on the Peet Play of the Day challenge on Saturday 2 February when they took on Mundaring at Brown Park.
Two outstanding performances were rewarded – with the judges unable to separate Josh Cox and Peter Foale who both had a great day with the bat and in the field. Josh added close to 40 runs to the teams 159 run total, smacking four 4s and one 6, while it was two classic catches that earned Peter Foale his award.
Josh and Peter both received two tickets to see the Scorchers beat the Melbourne Stars by 27 runs on Sunday 3 February, in their final home game at Optus Stadium this season.
