Instructions for Buying & Selling
Thank you for your interest in purchasing shares/units in syndicates/trusts managed by Peet Limited.
- The first step in the process is to complete and sign the Buyers Authority Form and return it to our office. The form can be downloaded from our Forms page. Please note that a separate authority form needs to be completed for each individual syndicate/trust that you wish to register your interest in as a buyer/seller.
- After receiving your authority, we will place your contact details on a list, which will be forwarded to our shareholders/unit holders who have expressed an interest in selling their shares/units. It is at the seller's discretion as to when and who they contact, and any negotiation between the parties is completely independent from Peet.
- When a sale contract has been finalised, a Transfer Form will need to be completed by the seller and signed by both the buyer and the seller. The form can be downloaded from our Forms page.
- The seller must return the original signed Transfer Form and Share Certificate to the address stated on the Forms page.
- If the original Share Certificate cannot be found, a Lost/Destroyed Share Certificate Statement will need to be completed and forwarded with the Transfer Form to the address given. The statement can be downloaded from our Forms page.
- You will also need to provide your Tax File Number (TFN) to Peet using the Tax File Number Notification Form. If we don't have your TFN we may be required by the ATO to withhold tax on future payments at the highest marginal rate. The form can be downloaded from our Forms page.
- Upon receipt of the Transfer Form and Share Certificate or Statement, we will enter the sale on our share register and issue new certificates to the relevant parties.
Instructions for Transferring
- If you have already found a buyer or seller, you do not need to be placed on our contact list. Complete the Transfer Form and return it, with the Share Certificate or Lost/Destroyed Share Certificate Statement, to the address stated on the Forms page. We will process the transaction accordingly. The Transfer Form and Statement can be downloaded from our Forms page.
- If the transaction is between related parties or is necessary due to the death of a shareholder or a change of trustee (or any other reason), a Transfer Form will need to be completed and returned to the address stated on the Forms page, along with the original Share Certificate and certified copies of any documents that may be relevant to the transfer. These documents may include, but are not limited to, Trust Deeds, Probates, Death Certificates etc. Upon receipt of these documents, we will enter the transfer in our share register and issue a new certificate to the relevant parties.
